Artist Profile: Alfredo Norese - the name behind the sound!

Alfredo Norese began life in Rosario, the second main city in Argentina, which is home to around a million of his beautiful country's residents. 

His musical career began as just another guitar player in many rock and pop bands of the mid 1980’s. However, the 90’s had arrived with the technology explosion that captivated a new acolyte: Norese took his career to the next level and decided to become a music producer. As an established musician, he studied at Rosario Music College as a “techno-man”, dedicating too many hours to the knowledge of computers and hardware synthesisers. 

From the mid-90’s until 2000, Norese worked at Buenos Aires from which one of his works “Macaferri y Asoc” went gold in 1994. Following his success, he produced several rock and pop bands whilst performing at numerous gigs all over South America. In addition, Norese has also worked with Gustavo Sachetti from Vilma Plama e Vampiros which were finally released on CD in 1995 on Barca Records.

From 2001, Alfredo Norese has been the name behind the Nor-S Collective, (a group of very talented DJs and musicians) which he currently runs and organises the work; the ideas for which converge at his home-studio where they become music. 

In 2004, Alfredo Norese decided it was time to show his work to the world… and the results were excellent! His own productions found their way onto releases on labels around the world from USA to Germany and the UK. 2005 and 2006 saw more track signings and a flow of remix work for labels from Europe and his native Argentina. In addition he signed to the Steal Vybe label (the successful producer duo from new Jersey) under his guise “Matador”. His first production for Steal Vybe has recently been released as a promo and is available from different stores around the world. 

Locally, Alfredo is working as a producer / remixer for Eternal Sunday, one of the most influential electro-pop labels in Argentina and the success of his work is frequently reflected in newspaper, magazine and other press internationally. 

Alfredo’s forthcoming single on Elation is set to be one of his strongest tracks to date. Featuring a high profile dance diva, the catchy funky house production, “Can You Feel It” is due later in 2007. Make sure you’re on the mailing list for updates!
